Biography
Wendy Brundage, Risk and Compliance Coordinator at 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×’s Office of Legal Affairs, Ethics, and Compliance, brings 15 years knowledge in recognizing, assessing, addressing, and implementing plans towards mitigating risks and ensuring compliance. Wendy’s formative years were shaped by being raised in a military household. She traveled stateside as well as internationally and this afforded her the opportunity to be exposed to and appreciate various cultures and backgrounds.
In 1996, Wendy and her family moved to Columbus, GA and in 1998 she attended Columbus State University, then Columbus College. With an ever-growing passion for learning, Wendy first sought and obtained her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, later acquiring her Master's in Public Safety Administration, and most recently her Bachelor's in Sociology.
Throughout Wendy's 15-year law enforcement career as a police officer, she worked at LaGrange PD for seven. Although her career path initially led her away from Columbus, she returned in 2017, working at the 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×'s Police Department (91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×PD). At 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×PD she rose through the ranks, acquiring the rank of Lieutenant. Wendy’s years of law enforcement provided her with the experience, knowledge, and training with identifying, addressing, and minimizing dangers and threats
It is also during her time at 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×PD she was introduced to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, formerly the Clery Act. She has been honing her skills in this area since 2020 by compiling the University’s quarterly and annually statistics in the years leading up to her position as the University’s Risk and Compliance Coordinator.
